Faith communities play a vital role in the safety and well-being of children and families. They offer continued support and guidance for families within their immediate network as well as the community at large through programming and mission work. Each and every day Faith communities are helping to prevent child abuse and neglect.
Heartland for Children is thankful for the wonderful work our local Faith communities are doing each and every day. As part of our Faith-Based Initiative, Heartland for Children invites local faith leaders and other representatives of faith communities to work together with us to identify additional opportunities to positively impact families in the communities we serve.
Ways to Get Involved
SHARE
Everyone can make a difference by simply sharing! There are so many ways to bring awareness to your faith community of the great need for foster and adoptive families. For example, you can share brochures, on your social media, put information in your bulletins, request a speaker for a service or host an Information Session. Check out our Faith + Foster Care Toolkit!
VOLUNTEER
Connect to the needs of hurting children and families in our community with a variety of volunteer opportunities from donating shoes and clothes, assisting with afterschool programs, and even volunteer for a day of fun to bring siblings together. We have a number of faith partners looking for volunteers to serve our children and families in the foster care system.
